THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE #380: SENTIMENTAL

Good Morning Paper Shelter lovers!

Our challenge at The Paper Shelter this week, is
SENTIMENTAL
We'd like you to include a sentiment in your project

I've used a gorgeous image called The Valkyrie, and coloured the image with markers.  I have framed my image and sentiment using Spellbinders dies.

My paper is from the Heartfelt Creations Timeless Amour Collection.  In the corners I've used Celebr8 wooden embellishments, and painted them with Prima Metallique Wax.  I've added a little metal heart by Tim Holtz, and flowers by Prima, 49 and Market, and Petaloo.  I've also added a few little pearls.

We have our usual fantastic prize up for grabs this week!  You can win a $30 gift voucher if you've used a Paper Shelter product on your creation (it could be the black and white image, the pre-coloured image, or the paper), or 3 digs of your choice, if you've used another brand.  You can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them.

I'm looking forward to popping over to see what you create this week!

Thanks so much for popping in for a look!

PASSION FOR PROMARKERS CHALLENGE #490: YOUR FAVOURITE STAMP/DIGI

Good Morning Everybody!

We have a wonderfully easy theme for you this week!  We'd like to see your
FAVOURITE STAMP OR DIGI

Up for grabs is a wonderful prize from

Giving our winner a 6-pack of Promarkers (rich tones)

I decided to go with an image I won and printed out ages ago, but haven't gotten around to colouring up, until now.  It's from The Paper Nest Dolls, and it's called Princess Rose.  I have coloured my image with ProMarkers.  I used:

Skin: Violet; Spice; Soft Peach; Oatmeal; Blush; Almond & Pastel Pink for her cheeks
Hair: Umber; Walnut; Terracotta; Vanilla
Blue: Sky Blue; Arctic Blue; Powder Blue
Yellow: Cocoa; Sunflower; Tulip Yellow; Buttercup
Pink: Maroon; Fuchsia Pink; Pink Carnation
Green: Pear Green; Lime Green; Lime Zest
Ground: Warm Greys 1 - 5
Background: Lavender; Pale Pink

I wanted to keep this card as clean and simple as possible, because I find Clean & Simple quite difficult.

My paper is from a Disney Mega Pack and I used Tim Holtz Metallic card for the borders.  I've added a thick ribbon & bow and a few gems.  The sentiment is from the Hunkydory 2017 Sentiments pack.

PENNY'S PAPER-CRAFTY CHALLENGE #426

Good Morning Everybody!

We have 2 fabulous prizes up for grabs this week!

will be giving away 2 black & white digi images of the winner's choice,
and

will be giving away a $6 store voucher

The team has used images from Cute As A Button, and I have used Daisy Mae.  I coloured my image with markers and cut it out with a blade.  I then made a swinging pendulum card with her.  I've never tried one of these before, so I had to watch a few YouTube videos before I felt confident enough to make a start, but I felt her rope, and the nature of the image itself just begged for this design.

My papers and sentiment are from the Heartfelt Creations Backyard Blossoms Collection.  I used a Spellbinders die for the overlapping piece.  There are lots of layers obviously, held in place with puffy pads.  I used a button for the hidden swing pin, and there's a coin attached behind the tyre.

To see what the rest of the team have created to inspire you this week, just click on our banner at the top of the page, or use our sponsors' logos to head straight to their stores.

This adorable image from Digi Doodle Studios, is called Lexi.  I have coloured the image with markers and cut it out using a Poppy Crafts die.

The sentiment is a Samantha Chaffey stamp, also cut out using a Poppy Crafts die.  My papers are from the Jennifer Ellory Emma's Garden pack.  I've added a strip of lace and flowers by KaiserCraft and Little Birdie.  The teeny pink flowers are Jenni B, and the Hugs sentiment is laser cut wood by Fab Scraps.

This gorgeous image is from Cute As A Button.  It's called Enjoying The Rain.  I have coloured the image with markers and drawn in a little pathway for her to be walking on.

My paper is from the IT Media Young Animals pack. The sentiments are Stampendous! stamps, and I've stamped them onto Joy Crafts die cut clouds, which I've also coloured with markers, to give them a bit of dimension.  My flowers are Green Tara.

SO PROUD

Krista Smith has written and illustrated a book that grew out of conversations with her son about 'rage quitting' his video games.  'It is a story as much about parenting a child through self control issues, as it is about self reflection and allowing our children to teach us too.'

This image is adapted from the book.  The look on Mum's face says so much.  To me, it mostly shows pride in her precious boy.  I decided this card could be used for anything that would cause that feeling in a Mum, so I've left the theme open for now, and focussed only on the 'pride' aspect.

I've coloured the image with markers, and drawn in the flowers on her shirt.  My papers are from the Maja Design Denim & Friends pack.  The sentiment has been cut out with a Spellbinders die.  I've added a few pearls.

If you'd like to get your hands on Krista's book, you can find it available for pre-order here:

RAGE QUIT

Krista Smith has written and illustrated a book that grew out of conversations with her son about 'rage quitting' his video games.  'It is a story as much about parenting a child through self control issues, as it is about self reflection and allowing our children to teach us too.'

I've made a birthday card with this image, adapted from the book.  I've coloured the image with markers and used a Celebr8 stencil and Distress Inks to create the background.  My paper is from the PhotoPlay Whiskers pack.  The sentiments are Ultimate Crafts stamps, and I've cut them out using Poppy Crafts dies.  I've added a few glittery star stickers.

Krista's book is available for pre-order right now.  The image below will take you straight to the book
