PASSION FOR PROMARKERS CHALLENGE #536: LACE & FLOWERS

https://promarkerchallenge.blogspot.com/

We have a fun new challenge for you this week, so get your Promarkers out and get crafting!

This week we'd like to see
LACE & FLOWERS
on your creation.

Up for grabs is a £15 store voucher from our sponsor

https://www.diestodiefor.com/

I've used an image from Sweet Escape Digis.  It's called Girl and her cat.  Unfortunately the image isn't currently in the Sweet Escape Digis Etsy store, but Berenice has previously added an image back to the store after I've used one that's been removed, so hopefully she'll do the same for this one.  It's so beautiful!

I've used the following Promarkers:

Skin: Coral; Oatmeal; Blush; Cocktail Pink
Hair & Eyes: Burnt Sienna; Cinnamon; Praline
Pink: Mulberry; Fuchsia Pink; Pink Carnation
White: Cool Greys 1 & 2; blender
Kitty: Cool Greys 1 - 5
Kitty Eyes: Pine; Lime Green

I used a Spellbinders die to cut out my image and then inked a bit around the image, with the die in place.

My papers are from the DCWV Bouquet de Fleur pack.  I've added a strip of Birch Creative lace along the edge and framed the inner paper with it.  My flowers are Prima.  I've also added a few pearls and a bow.

We're all looking forward to seeing what you create this week, and I'll be popping by to see each entry.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

THUMBS UP KID

When KennyK closed their doors, I went on a panic driven shopping spree.  I now have almost all their images, but haven't yet used quite a few of them.

This one is called Thumbs Up Kid.  I have coloured the image with markers.  My paper is from the Ella & Viv Graffiti Kit, and to that I've added 2 sentiment stickers.  I thought anything else would spoil the illusion of him popping through the hole in the wall, so I've left it at that.

MR SPEAKER

With so many Design Team cards to make every month, you'd think all my card needs would be covered, but ALAS!  Male cards are always in short supply, and non-DT cards are always a fabulous opportunity to use images from other stores, that have made it into my stash.

This fabulous image is from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  It's called Mr Speaker (birthday).  I have coloured the image with markers and added in a sidewalk background for him.

My papers are from the DCWV Honey Chic pack.  I have cut the 50 on my Cameo.  The gift bags and double layer stars are Little B stickers.

THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE #420: FLOWERS OF SPRING

https://thepapershelter.blogspot.com/

Good Morning lovely crafters!

We have a super new challenge for you at The Paper Shelter this week!  Your theme is
FLOWERS OF SPRING

This card very nearly didn't make it onto my blog!  I started with this gorgeous image called The Huntress, and coloured her with markers.

I then used a Poppy Crafts die to cut her out.  From there I picked my papers, which are from 2 different Maja Design paper packs: the pink from the Vintage Romance pack, and the green from the Sofiero Collection.  I picked a bold green cardstock for borders and then the ivy laser cut from Scrapaholics, and THIS is where things started to go wrong!

The original laser cut cardboard is quite dark.  I tried colouring it using the same greens I'd used in the image, but they looked horrible, so I decided I needed to start from a white base.  I sprayed it with white Gesso, let it dry and then tried colouring again.  I've left the marker ink on the arrow along the top, so you can see what it was looking like.  Again, I wasn't happy, so I decided I'd need to paint it.  The only thing I could find in the colour I was looking for was Prima Finnabair Rust Effect Paint.  I was finally happy with the look, but it does have a gritty (sandy) feel to it.

When it came time to add flowers, I faced my next challenge.  I attached all my flowers (green Tara) and just didn't like the finished product.  At that point I decided to scrap the whole project, and started colouring a new image, but with a new morning came new inspiration and I added more flowers (Green Tara and 49 and Market), this time the blue, white and deep pink, and FINALLY the card looked good to me.  The new colours seemed to add some life to the image and card overall.

Hopefully your creation this week will spring from your desk easier than mine did!

Up for grabs this week is a $30 store voucher if you've used a Paper Shelter product (it could be the black and white digi if you enjoy colouring, the pre-coloured image, if you don't, or one of the digi papers), or 3 digi images of your choice, if you've used another brand.  You can enter up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them.

Let's see those flowers!

Thanks for popping in for a look today!

DIGI DOODLE STUDIOS DAZZLING DARINA

This is one of those images that you 'recognise' when you first see it.  When my daughter lets her hair grow long, it looks just like this, and I am SO envious!

The image is called Dazzling Darina.  I have coloured the image with markers and used a Poppy Crafts stitched edge die to cut her out.  I've used the same set for the sentiment tag and offset papers.

The offset paper is from the Wild Rose Studio Bella paper pack, and the rest of my papers are from the 13@rts Vintage Summer paper pack.  The sentiment is an SC Design stamp.

I've tucked some cheesecloth behind the floral paper and added Petaloo flowers and a few pearls.

I didn't have full access to my craft room for a few weeks, as we had guests staying with us and everything was a little crazy.  All I did get to do was colour a few images, and then set them aside for later use.  This was one of the images, and my plan for the card completely changed in the intervening days.  I think the delay was a good thing, because I'm far happier with how this turned out than my original plan would have.

We share loads of inspiration using Digi Doodle Studios images in our Facebook group, so if you'd like to see more, be sure to visit us there.

You could also head directly to the store to see more of these beautiful images.

And for an opportunity to win Digi Doodles of your own, be sure to enter our monthly challenge, where you can use any image you wish, provided your colour it by hand.  This month's theme is RIBBON AND/OR LACE

PAPER NEST DOLLS THE BIG DAY

This sweet image is brand new from Paper Nest Dolls.  It's called The Big Day.  I have coloured the image with markers and used a Creative Dies wonky stitches die to cut it out.

I decided to use the image for an anniversary card instead of a wedding card, hence the sentiment, which has also been cut out with a wonky stitches die by Creative Dies.

My papers, flowers and enamel embellishments are all from the Prima Darcelle collection.  I've distressed the edges of the papers and mounted the image and sentiment with puffy pads.  I've also added a strip of lace by 49 and Market.

There's always lots to see in the Paper Nest Dolls Facebook group, so be sure to join us there.

I've used such a fun image from SheepSki Designs!

The image is called My Pad.  I have coloured it with markers and used a Spellbinders die to cut it out.    The white dots were made with a white gel pen.

My papers and sentiment are from the Heartfelt Creations Winking Frog collection.  I've added 3 pretty little dragonflies - they're Dress It Up Buttons; and a few Prima Say It In Crystals gems.

PASSION FOR PROMARKERS CHALLENGE #534: MASCULINE

https://promarkerchallenge.blogspot.com/

Good Morning Promarker lovers!

Our lovely Kitty has chosen your theme this week.  She'd like your creation to be
MASCULINE
this week

https://www.doctor-digi.com/

are sponsoring our challenge this week.  They'll be giving our lucky winner 2 digi images.

I've used Bus Stop Baz on my card.  I've used the following Promarkers:

Skin: Coral, Oatmeal, Blush
Hair: Black, Cool Greys 4 & 5
Blue: Cobalt, Cornflower, Powder Blue
T-Shirt & Shoes: Cool Greys 1 - 5
Watch: Cool Greys 1 - 3
Ground: Henna, Raw Sienna

I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the image and another from the set for the sentiment.  My papers are from two different Maja Design paper packs:  The blues are from the Vintage Baby pack, and the clock paper is from the Vintage Autumn pack.

Stickers are a great way to decorate a card for a male.  I've used some from EK Success and some from Little Birdie, as well as a Little Birdie alarm clock.  I've also added a ribbon, which says 'Life is beautiful', and a few pearls.

If you're like me, you find male cards a bit of a challenge, so be sure to pop back to the challenge for a little more inspiration from the team.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Thanks for popping in today!

WORLD WIDE OPEN DESIGN TEAM CHALLENGE #03

https://worldwideopendesignteamchallenge.blogspot.com/

I have the privilege of Guest Designing for World Wide Open Design Team Challenge for the next few months.   The challenge is exclusively sponsored by Julia Spiri, so I've had the joy of picking one of her images to showcase this month.

This is Smile.  I have coloured the image with markers and used a Poppy Crafts stitched oval die to cut her out.

My papers are from the Ciao Bella Broccato Estense paper pack.  I've added a strip of lace and a crocheted doily which I picked up at a 2nd hand store.  I cut the doily in half to use in 2 different places on the card.  The little bow was made with the final piece of a ribbon I had in my stash.

My flowers are a mix of 49 and Market and Prima.  I've also added two white feathers behind the flowers, to tie in with the feather in her hair.  As a final touch, I've added a few FabScraps pearls.

The World Wide Open Design Team Challenge is open to anyone who serves on any Design Team around the world, so if that's you, be sure to join this month!  You can enter any project and use any image.
