THE PAPER SHELTER 2023 SUMMER BREAK CHALLENGE: ANYTHING GOES

Good Morning lovely crafters!

Our theme at The Paper Shelter this week is:
ANYTHING GOES

I absolutely love Steampunk themed 'things' - clothing, cards, etc, so I just had to choose Steam Punk Girl for this one.

I have coloured the image with Copics, and then cut her out by hand.

I had SO MUCH fun creating the background for her.  I started with black card, and added all my background goodies: Scrap FX laser cuts, Ultimate Crafts lace, Reeves Modeling Paste to add some depth, and then Prima Mini Art Stones, to roughen that surface a little.

Once that had had a chance to dry overnight, I sprayed everything with Gesso.  Unfortunately I only had white Gesso on hand.  If I'd had black, I would have wiped some of the colour off, once it was added, to reveal some of the black underneath.  Another night to dry, and then I could start playing with colour.

I chose the Prima Metal Rust Set of Rust Effect Paste, and painted over everything.  After yet another night to let everything dry, I touched up those areas that still had white showing through, and gave it a few more hours to dry, before assembling everything.

I've mounted the image with puffy pads, and added a few Solid Oak Inc Steampunk embellishment; a Ribtex lightbulb and rose chain; Tim Holtz gears; and a few metal brads from my stash.

Up for grabs at The Paper Shelter this week is our usual fantastic prize!  Our winner will win a $30 store voucher if you've used a Paper Shelter product on your entry (you could choose the pre-coloured image, the black and white digi, or the digital paper that comes in the set), or 3 digis of your choice, if you've used another brand.  You can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them.

Thanks for popping in!

THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE #563: A WELL EARNED BREAK

Good Morning lovely crafters!

Our theme at The Paper Shelter this week is:
A WELL EARNED BREAK
(Any hobby or fun activity)

I've picked Cute Bunny Easter Egg Delivery for this one, BUT removed the bunny and the Easter eggs!  I'm seeing this gorgeous girl going for long rides, and filling those basket with picnic supplies and flowers.

I've coloured the image with Copics, and used a Poppy Crafts die to cut it out.

My papers and the beautiful sentiment are from the Stamperia Oh là là! collection.  I've inked all the edges and used a grass edge die by Kampen for the centre strip.

I've added a strip of cheesecloth, a Make it Crafty laser cut, plus two laser cut offcuts for the sentiment.  My flowers are a mix of Prima and Little Birdie.  I've finished off with two Carta Bella brads.

PASSION FOR MARKERS CHALLENGE #699: CHRISTMAS ANIMALS IN JULY

If you're like me, and always plan to get your Christmas cards done early in the year, but never quite manage to do so, then this week's challenge at Passion for Markers, chosen by our lovely Wendy, is perfect for you!

Our theme for the week is:
CHRISTMAS ANIMALS IN JULY

Up for grabs this week is a $6 store voucher from our generous sponsor

I've used one of the imagse from our sponsor that I've had in my stash for a while.  It's called Xmas Bear.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in store to link to for you.  Not only do we have a Christmas bear, but there are two little robins in the image too!

I've coloured the image with Copics and then cut it out by hand.

My base card is a Christmas hat, cut on my Cricut, using papers from the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Winter Woods paper pack.

My flowers are a mix of I am Roses and Little Birdie.  The Christmas stocking is Little B; the sentiment is Dovecraft; the tree and snowflakes are Buttons Galore & More buttons; and the pearls are Studio Light.

Be sure to pop over to see what the rest of the team have created this week.  You're sure to find something that inspires you to get started on your Christmas cards.

Thanks for popping in!

CHEF'S BIRTHDAY

This sweet image is from Digi Doodle Studios, which has unfortunately closed.  It was originally part of the Bon Appetite Pairables set.  I have used this character twice before.  You can see those cards here and here.

I have coloured the image with Copics and used a set of Poppy Crafts dies to frame the image and sentiment.

My papers are from the Echo Park A Slice of Summer paper pack.  My only embellishments are Dress It Up buttons.

Thanks so much for popping in for a look today!

THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE #561: LAYER IT UP

Good Morning lovely crafters!

Our theme at The Paper Shelter this week is:
LAYER IT UP

I couldn't resist colouring up this gorgeous newer image, called Contemplating Butterflies.  She's been coloured with Copics, and I used a Poppy Crafts stitched rectangle die to cut her out.  I used another die from the set, one size up, for the paper behind the image, which comes from the Maja Design Street Cafe paper pack.

The rest of my papers come from the Jeanine's Art Humming Bees paper pack.

I've added a strip of Prima lace, and a Prima lace bow, which is actually part of a lacy ribbon of bows.  My flowers are a mix of 49 and Market, Little Birdie and I Am Roses, with Vivaldi blossoms.

I've finished off with a little heart charm and three little heart gems that have been in my stash for years.

PASSION FOR MARKERS CHALLENGE #697: SHAPED CARD

Good Morning colourists!

This week at Passion for Markers, our lovely Nat would like to see
SHAPED CARDS

Up for grabs we have 2 digi images from our generous sponsor

I got to work with a perfect image for my part of the world.  The image is called Christmas - Joy.  I've coloured the image with Copics, then cut it out by hand, and stuck it down onto my Christmas tree shaped card, which I cut on my Cricut.

My papers are from the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Winter Woods paper pack.  I've used multiple KaiserCraft laser cuts, which I've sprayed with white Gesso, and I've finished off with a few Pink Fresh Studio pearls.

The ladies have done such a fantastic job this week, so be sure to pop over for a look.

Thanks for visiting!
