MY MAGNOLIA CARDS

My very first introduction to stamping came from my sister in law, with the gift of a few Magnolia stamps.  Oh boy!  Did that bug bite deep!!!  Now I use a stamp on almost every card I produce.

These are my Magnolia cards.   Unfortunately, I didn't keep a record of materials or techniques used, in the beginning, so the older cards have no info attached.  I started out colouring them in with pencil crayons, but later discovered Letraset Promarkers, and I love them!

I've never used or made bunting before, so this was quite a challenge.  The main shape card is cut from the Cricut Walk In My Garden cartridge.  The green background paper is from the First Edition Spring Feast paper pack.  I cut the bunting from a chequered sheet from the DCWV The Basics stack.

The black dotted paper comes from a W&M paper pack.  The flowers are Papermania, and they're held in place with Upikit pearl brads.

The frame and wooden spoon were cut on the Cricut, and the embellishments are all Jolee's stickers

The frame around this card was made using an 'around the page' Martha Stewart punch

The frame and snowflake on this card were cut on the Cricut

This card was for a Shaker Card challenge with my sisters.  I used half of a box that brads came in.  I decided my shaker contents were going to be shells, so that set the theme for the card.  The light blue and white paper behind her is from a W&M pack.  The frame around the rectangle is cut from the Lovely Floral Cricut Cartridge.  The blue wave frame was cut on my Cameo.  The paper for both frames came from the DCWV Old World Stack.  I added pearls to the crests of the waves, and to make a few 'bubble streams'.  The 3 brownish sea theme papers came from the K&Company TC Travel Collection paper pack.  I inked all the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I added a piece of hessian to the top right-hand corner and tied the dolphin charms on with craft string.  The shell and anchor are wood.  I coloured the anchor with Promarkers.  I painted the shell with some shimmer paint

This card was also for a challenge.  I’d never even heard of a swing card, let alone made one.  After much online research, I chose this design.

My papers are all from the Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Collection.  I inked all the edges with black Distress Ink.  I have used two Magnolia stamps, coloured with Promarkers.  I used Liquid Pearls for the dots on the shirt, headband, pockets and frills.  I added gem flowers to the umbrella and on the headband.  The gem swirl is Say It In Crystals, and I added single gems to the flowers and curves.  The curved shapes are Nestabilities, which I put through my eBosser, after watching a tutorial online.  I used two sets of freebie stamps - Polka Doodles for the 'Happy Birthday', and Oscar the owl and friends for the ‘best wishes’, and ‘just for you’.  I left the lighter (back) side of the card pretty plain, because I figured that’s where I would write the message.  I didn’t do the neatest job, lining up my cuts and papers, but I loved the outcome anyway.

This card was for a 'copycat' challenge - each one of us had to copy a previous card from another member of the group.  I chose a suitcase from Silhouette and cut it on my Cameo.  I added little screw brads to the corners - they reminded me so much of our little cardboard school suitcases when we were little.  I threaded a strip of Bo Bunny lace through the ribbon slider.  I inked the edges of the suitcase with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  My Magnolia stamp is coloured in Promarkers, with added Stickles to the flower on her hat and lace on the bottom of her dress.  I added Glossy Accents to the corners and buckle of Tilda’s suitcase, and to her shoes.  I used individual little gems to make the design in the corner.  My main flower is a Prima flower.  I added Stickles to the blue roses.  The wallet, with credit cards, tickets and a passport are a Jolee's sticker set.

This card was also for a challenge: Fruity. The two twirly borders were cut on the Cameo.  The papers and message tag come from the Heartfelt Creations Majestic Morning Collection.  I added lots of pearls and threaded some ribbon through eyelets.

This card was for a challenge specifically to use this stamp: Tilda on the Beach: Tilda and her background are coloured with Promarkers, with some added white pen, Liquid Pearls and Stickles on her shirt.  Her frame is a die.  The paper is from the Heartfelt Creations Balmy Breeze Collection.  There’s a strip of cheese cloth at the top, tied with twine - an idea I saw online.  I added a dolphin charm.  The flowers are all Petaloo.  I’ve added Prima resin shells and sea creatures, and shell and steering wheel brads.

This was also a challenge to use the specific stamp: Summer Bathing Tilda: Papers and beach huts are Fabscraps; I coloured the background with Promarkers; the beachball is a brad; shell brads and Jolee's stickers, rectangle bards are Bo Bunny; Prima resin starfish
