THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE #454: HAPPY BIRTHDAY

We have a fun new challenge starting at The Paper Shelter today!  Our theme for the week is:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
It couldn't get any easier than that!

I've created a groovy card using Charmingly Hippie.  I wanted to give her an 'updated' look, but keep my card psychedelic and fun.

I've coloured the image with Copics.

I have two different paper packs, perfect for an image with a hippie theme, but I had already coloured her before I pulled them out, and neither looked good with her, so I pulled out one of my oldest paper packs for this one: DCWV Nana's Kids.  The colours were exactly what I was looking for.

I've added a flower strip and a peace sign from one of my original paper pack choices: Groovy Kit by Ella & Viv.

My giant sentiment is die cut using dies from two different Crafti Potential stamp & die kits.  My flowers are 49 and Market.

I was surprised at how hard it was to put this card together.  The background paper is so bold, it was hard to find flowers that didn't clash too badly, or get lost.   I'm quite happy with the end result though.

Well, up for grabs this week is our usual fantastic prize!  You could win a $30 store voucher if you've used a Paper Shelter product on your entry (black & white digi, pre-coloured image or digital paper), or 3 digis of your choice if you've used another brand.  You can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them.

Have fun!

Thanks for popping in for a look!

PASSION FOR MARKERS CHALLENGE #576: BUTTONS/BOWS

Good Morning lovely crafters!

This week our talented Elaine has chosen your theme.  She'd like to see
BUTTONS AND/OR BOWS on your creation.

Up for grabs is 2 digi images from our generous sponsor:

I have used Wild About Flowers on my card.  I have coloured the image with Copics and used a Creative Dies wonky stitches die to frame her.  I've also inked around her with Distress Ink.

My papers are from the DCWV Honey Chic Stack.  I've used the same Creative Dies die for the pink paper and a Paper Rose banner for the floral paper.  My sentiment is from a die and stamp set by Crafti Potential.

I decided to use buttons and a bow.  The buttons are from my stash and the ribbon is Offray.  I've also added a few I Am Roses flowers.

Be sure to get your entry in this week, for an opportunity to win this awesome prize!

Thanks for popping in for look today!

NOAH 2

This is the second card I'm making for brothers in their early 20s, using images from Mo's Digital Pencil that I've had in my stash for years.  I've actually used this image before.  It's fabulous male image!

The image is called Noah.  I've coloured it with markers, and used a Poppy Crafts die to cut it out, and another from the set to cut out the sentiment.

The sentiment is a KaiserCraft stamp.  My papers are from the DCWV My Sunshine Stack paper pack.  I've added two lengths of hemp cord and tied them off with a bow.  I've also added a glitter dot by Ribtex.

Thanks for popping in for al look today!

GET WELL SOON

A quick Get Well Soon from me today, for someone who has just had surgery.

This cute tortoise is from the Noah's ABC Animals Cricut cartridge.  My papers are from the Maja Design Denim & Friends pack.  I typed up the sentiments and cut them out using Spellbinders dies.  The fantastic little Bandaids are Merci stickers.

PAPER NEST DOLLS EMMA WITH BALLOON (STRIPED)

I have a little Paper Nest Dolls inspiration for you today.

This sweet little thing is called Emma with Balloon (Striped) - because she's also available with plain socks.

I have coloured the image with markers and used a wonky stitches die by Creative Dies to cut the shape around her, allowing her balloon to extend beyond the edges of the shape.

My papers are from the Heartfelt Creations Tea Time paper pack.  I've used one of my oldest Martha Stewart punches for the heart borders.

The bunting in the top corner is Jenni B, and I've used hemp cord to tie it off - making the smallest bows I think I've ever made!

Emma's gift is a dimensional sticker I've had in my stash for years, and my flowers were all from my stash.  A finishing touch was a few pearls.

I love working with digital images, but if rubber stamps are your thing, you can find sweet Emma in rubber here.

DIGI DOODLE STUDIOS BOBBY MARTIAL ARTS BOY

Sticking with the theme of making boy cards this month, today I have a karate themed card to share, with an adorable image from Digi Doodle Studios, called Bobby Martial Arts Boy.

I have coloured the image with markers and used a Poppy Crafts stitched edge circle die to cut him out.

My papers are from the ColorPlay Martial Arts paper pack.  I wish it had also had a few 'younger' looking papers, so I could make this card cuter, but the red, white and black is ok.

To embellish this card I've used a Jolee's karate themed pack.  Aren't they awesome!  The sentiment is a Stampendous! stamp and I've used a Paper Rose stitched edge tag die to cut it out.

We have lots of inspiration to share in our Facebook Group, so be sure to join us there!

You can head directly to the store if you prefer:
