THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE #505: GIRL POWER

Good Morning lovely crafters!

This week our theme at The Paper Shelter is
GIRL POWER
and I decided to blend a little bit of feminine with the tough side of girls.

I chose The Bricklayer for my card.  I coloured the image with Copics.  For the vague cityscape in the background, I first used a Hunkydory stencil and Distress Ink, and then went over the lot with a marker, to blur it out and soften it down a bit.

My papers are from the First Edition Mulberry Kisses paper pack.  I used a strip of loose burlap and 49 and Market flowers.  The tools are all Jolee's

Up for grabs at The Paper Shelter this week is our usual fantastic prize!  Our winner will win a $30 store voucher if you've used a Paper Shelter product on your entry (you could choose the pre-coloured image, the black and white digi, or the digital paper that comes in the set), or 3 digis of your choice, if you've used another brand.  You can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them.

Thanks so much for popping in for a look!

PASSION FOR MARKERS CHALLENGE #634: IN THE GARDEN

Good Morning fellow crafters!

Our lovely Lisa has chosen your theme this week.  She'd like to see something
IN THE GARDEN
This doesn't necessarily need to be about flowers or plants, but rather anything you'd find in the garden (garden tools, butterflies, garden gnomes, etc)

We have one of my favourite sponsors offering 3 digis to our winner this week

I have used a gorgeous floral image called Peonies.  I have coloured the image with Copics, using the following colours:

Pink: RV69; RV19; RV55; RV52; RV000
Yellow: E15; YR15; Y35; Y32
Green: YG97; YG17; YG03; YG0000
Background: BG000

I decided to go with a Clean & Simple design for this card, so that the image would POP off the page.

I used a pair of Kaisercraft dies to frame the image, and a Creative Expressions die for the sentiment.  I decided to cut the sentiment from white cardstock, and then colour it myself, to match the image.  I used RV55.

I backed the image with an embossed panel, and added a few Echo Park enamel dots.

Be sure to pop past the blog to see what the girls have created to inspire you this week.

Thanks for popping in to see mine!

Good Morning lovely crafters!

If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, you are getting to see the wonder and beauty of Spring unfold.  It's such a beautiful time of year!  Down here, where I am, I can get excited about your Spring too, because it means Autumn for me, and that means Winter os on it's way, and I LOVE Winter!

This week our theme is:
LET IT BE SPRING

There are several gorgeous images to choose from for this theme.  I have chosen Enchanting Butterflies.  I have coloured the image with Copics and used a Wonky Stitches circle die by Creative Dies, to cut it out.

My papers are from the Echo Park My Favourite easter collection.  It is full of beautiful Spring colours.  I've also added a few enamel dots from the collection.

The sentiment is a Sally Mountain pop out freebie from the Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine.  My flowers are all from I Am Roses.

Whether it's the colour of your birthstone, the shape, or perhaps you know a bit about the country where it's found... let your birthstone guide your creativity this week.

Up for grabs this week: 3 digi images from our fantastic sponsor

I am born in April, so my birthstone is the DIAMOND.

This gorgeous image from our sponsor is called Anime Don't Forget.  I couldn't wait to colour this image. I just love her hair!

I have coloured the image with Copics, using the following colours:
Skin: E04; E11; E21; E00; E000; R30
Hair: E59; E57; E55; E53
Eyes: BG18; BG13; BG11
Lips: E04; RV34; RV32
Tongue: R59; RV32
Top: V99; V95; V93; V91
Skirt: BV29; BV25; BV23; BV20
Waistband & Top Trim: C5; C3; C1
Background: C2; C1; C0
I've used a white gel pen to create the 'diamonds' on her skirt.

I've used a Creative Dies wonky Stitches oval to cut out the image.

My papers for this card come from the KaiserCraft Lilac Whisper paper pack.  The sentiment is from the same collection.  I've added lots of 'diamonds' and 'diamond' swirls by Prima and Doodlebug Designs.  My flowers are 49 and Market.

The girls have each used their own birthstone as their inspiration this week, so I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of inspiration on the blog this week.

THE PAPER SHELTER CHALLENGE #501: ONE FOR THE BOYS

Good Morning lovely crafters!

We're focusing on the men in our lives at The Paper Shelter this week,  Whether they're young or old, our theme for the week is to make:
ONE FOR THE BOYS

I've chosen one of the fun animal images for my card for a boy.  The image is called Unusual Friends.  They just look so naughty, as though they've been caught doing something they shouldn't.  I can't help but laugh when I look at those faces!  I have coloured the image image with Copics.

I decided to keep this one nice and simple, without any embellishments at all.  My papers are from the PhotoPlay Cat Lover paper pack, and the sentiment is an Art Impressions stamp.
